Two IS Suspects 'Neutralized' During Special Operation In Russia's Tyumen - Authorities

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 13th April, 2019) Russian law enforcement officers carried out an anti-terrorist operation in the city of Tyumen, during which two suspected members of the Islamic State terror group (IS, banned in Russia), who planned to carry out a terror attack, were "neutralized," the National Antiterrorism Committee has said.

Late on Friday, the Federal Security Service said the operation had been launched after the IS members, planning to carry out a terror act, had been located in one of the residential buildings in Tyumen.

"When offered to lay down arms and surrender to the authorities, the terrorists opened fire on law enforcement officers and were neutralized as a result of the shoot-out," the committee said in a statement late on Friday.

"There have been no casualties among civilians and law enforcement officers," the statement read.
