Allama Iqbal's Daughter-in-law Pay Tribute At Seminar

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Nov, 2016 ) : Justice (R) Nasira Javed Iqbal, the daughter-in-law of National poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal, said here on Friday that the Poet of the East wanted the upbringing of the Muslim youth under his concept of 'Khudi' (Self-realisation).
She was addressing the participants in a day-long seminar on Iqbaliyat 'Apna Muqam Paida Kar', held at the auditorium of University of Gujrat (UoG), Sialkot Campus here. Justice (R) Nasira shared interesting tales of Iqbal's childhood with the young audience.
Her discussion was dotted with inspirational verses from Iqbal's poetry, followed by a detailed explanation of the verses, ensuring that the students fully understand Iqbal's concepts. Nasira Javed Iqbal appreciated the management of UoG Sialkot Campus for launching 'Imam Bibi Endowment Fund' for encouraging the deserving and brilliant students.
Allama Iqbal's Russia-based daughter-in-law, Aysha Salman, on this occasion paid homage to Iqbal, saying that she was pleased to be in Sialkot, the birth city of Allama Iqbal. She said Allama Iqbal was read and liked in various other countries including Russia.
Aysha Salman also recited Allama Iqbal's famous poetry and impressed the audience a lot. Later on, talking to the media, she said that Allama Iqbal's urdu poetry was being taught to students at the University of Moscow.
She said that she had been striving for promotion of Iqbaliyat in Moscow as well. Welcoming the participants, Rehan Younas, chief executive UoG Sialkot Campus, said that 'Imam Bibi Endowment Fund' had been named after the mother of Allama Iqbal.
