Govt Taking Care Of Women Rights: Minister

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Nov, 2016 ) : Provincial Minister on Minorities and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said to snub domestic violence on woman, it is necessary to eliminate ignorance and sick minded approach from society.

"We must change our social behaviour and attitude to provide equal rights to woman," he added. He expressed these views while addressing a seminar on "Domestic Violence and Woman" here at Kinnaird College for Women on Friday.

The minister said: "Women are more than 50 per cent of the country's population, therefore, it is our constitutional obligation to provide them basic rights, education employment and health facilities.

" He said without involving woman in a process of nation building, dream of a prosper and developed country could not be materialised.

He said the Punjab government had made important legislation in the Punjab Assembly for protection of women rights. Speaking on the occasion, Justice (R) Nasira Javed Iqbal said by implementing laws and changing social behaviour women would get equal rights in our society.
