Czech Republic Ambassador Calls On Chairman HEC

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Nov, 2016 ) : Ambassador of Czech Republic to Pakistan Jan F�ry, met with Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed on Friday.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed briefed the envoy about the initiatives taken by HEC for promotion of higher education in the country, says a news relese. HEC is committed to ensure equitable access to higher education without any compromise on quality, he said.
He stressed the need for collaboration between the two countries in higher education sector, particularly research and development. The Ambassador appreciated the promotion of higher education in Pakistan and steps taken by HEC in this direction.
He invited the Chairman to visit Czech Republic. The Chairman also briefed the Ambassador about the Lahore Knowledge Park, an under-construction project worth Rs. 100 billion, and invited the Czech R&D organizations and academia to join the venture.
He said that HEC will support collaborative initiatives between the higher education institutions of Pakistan and Czech Republic, adding that a team of Vice Chancellors will be sent to Czech universities to identify areas for mutual collaboration.
