CPWB Takes 30 Street Children In Custody

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Nov, 2016 ) -Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Lahore, during it's anti-begging crackdown took another 30 street children in custody. According to spokesman of CPWB,on direction of Chairperson Saba Sadiq,a special team raided different localities of the city including Shaukat Khanum Chowk,Campus Bridge,Barkat Market,Moon Market,Kareem Block Market, Main Market Bulberg,Defence Morh,Y-Block, H-Block,Model Town and Johar Town.
He said 28 boys and 2 girls begging on these roads were taken into custody.On the orders of Child Protection Court,these children were shifted to the Child Protection Institute and the teams were trying to contact their families.
Saba Sadiq has directed the teams to carry on this operation with the aim to end begging practice by children.
