Irfan urges nation to follow message of Allama Iqbal

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Nov, 2016 ) : Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui Thursday said Allama Iqbal was a great poet and philosopher, who gave a vision which became a reality in the creation of Pakistan.

He was addressing an event organized by Allama Iqbal Council to celebrate the birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal at Pakistan National Council of Arts auditorium here. Renowned scholars including Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi, Khurshid Nadeem, Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, Ambassadors of Turkey, Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia, Anwar Masood, Jaleel Aali, Ahsaan Akbar and Iqbal's grandson Muneeb Iqbal spoke on the occasion.

He said Allama Iqbal breathed a revolutionary spirit in the nation through his poetry. "If we are an alive nation, then we must follow the philosophy and messages of Iqbal. Nations all around the world pay tribute to him," he added.

The event was aimed at highlighting the messages, thoughts and ideology of Allama Iqbal, the great national poet. Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema said, "Iqbal's philosophy is still valid and is read widely across the world.

He gave importance to younger generation and wrote many poems for them. They must regard his divine efforts, beliefs, wisdom and ideology. Iqbal's poetry is for all ages and cultures." Ambassador of Tajikistan, Sher Ali, said Iqbal was not confined to Pakistan, but he was the poet of the whole region and the world.

Turkish Ambassador Babar Girgin said Allama Iqbal was the true visionary poet of whole humanity. Muneeb Iqbal said Iqbal played a significant role in the creation of Pakistan. He was a man of great ideas and values and a true legend who had envisioned the ideology of Pakistan, he added.

Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi said Iqbal was a bridge between traditions and modernism. Iqbal gave us a message of hope, he added. Anwar Masood said poetry of Allama Iqbal had the power to change the destinies of not only individuals but of entire nations. Famous singer Ms. Hina Nasrullah sang the verses of Iqbal on this occasion.
