UK House Of Commons Passes Bill To Prevent No-Deal Brexit, Draft Law To Get Royal Assent

LONDON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th April, 2019) The UK House of Commons passed the draft law that seeks a delay to Brexit in order to stop a no-deal withdrawal from the European Union.

The legislation, proposed by Labour's Yvette Cooper, aims to force Prime Minister Theresa May to request an extension to Brexit, which is currently set for Friday. On Monday, the draft law was adopted by the House of Lords and it must now get a royal assent to enter into force.

According to Cooper, both chambers of the UK parliament agreed that the no-deal Brexit would have a negative impact on the country's employment, industry and security.
