Tele-Cotton SMS Service For Cotton Growers Inaugurated

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Nov, 2016 ) : Federal Secretary Textile Industry Hassan Iqbal inaugurated the SMS service titled "Tele-Cotton" for cotton growers at Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI), here on Thursday.
Addressing on this occasion, the federal secretary urged the cotton growers to get benefit from Tele-Cotton SMS service and hoped that service would be helpful for them in obtaining better production.
He said that Ministry of Textile Industry would utilize all latest resources for providing latest technology to growers. The brief SMS would be sent on daily basis to growers about problems regarding crop and their solution, he added.
He asked the agriculture scientists of CCRI to adopt latest scientific ways in their research programme.
He announced that Pakistan Central Cotton Committee would set-up an organization which would impart practical training to cotton-farm managers of growers about cotton crop, he said and added that the trained people would apply the practical exercise at their fields and provide training to other growers of these areas also.
Dr Khalid Abdullah briefed the federal secretary about new cotton seed varieties produced by the department and research activities. DR Naveed while briefing about advantages of SMS service gave message to the willing cotton growers to text their name and address on this number-0334-112213.
The Federal Secretary visited various department of CCRI and appreciated the research work of agri scientists.
