Greed for dowry: Police constable in Lahore allegedly performs six marriages

His sixth wife Amna, a resident of Mcleod Road, alleged that her husband married women for the sake of dowry.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 6th April, 2019) A police constable in Lahore allegedly did six marriages to get dowry from girls in his greed.

According to details, Faisal Younas, a police constable and resident of Misri Shah, did six different marriages to get money and dowry from girls. Constable Faisal would marry the woman, take dowry, torture them and then divorce them.

His sixth wife Amna, a resident of Mcleod Road, alleged that her husband married women for the sake of dowry. She said that her parents had married him to the constable in May, 2018 with the help of a marriage broker.

The first few months were peaceful but then she found some documents from his husband’s cupboard, revealing that he was already married.

When she contacted previous wives of Faisal, she found out that he would take their dowry and forced them to bring money from their parents.

Amna alleged that Faisal had forced her to bring Rs 60,000 from her parents.

He bought an LED tv and other items from the money. He then demanded her to bring a motorcycle. When she refused, he tortured her and warned her of bad consequences.

Faisal had joined police in 2004 and nobody could speak against him for his profession.

Amna registered a complaint against her husband with the Punjab IG’s Office. SSP Discipline and Inspection Athar Waheed had launched investigation against him.

Amna said that it’s been three months since inquiry report has been completed against him but IG Office clerical staff has been making efforts to protect the accused.

They call Amna to the office again and again.

Amna alleged that Faisal and fellow police officers want to bury the matter despite reassurances of returning the dowry.

She further said that the constable is blackmailing him with his nude pictures.

She requested the higher officials to provide her justice.
