AJK Seeks Due Share In CPEC: AJK President

MUZAFFARABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Nov, 2016 ) : Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) President, Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan has said that the AJK was a natural part of the China- Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and was aspirant to get its due share in this huge project.
"This region has a great development potential and being the natural part of the route, we are intending to be a partner, having due share in CPEC, " Masood told a standing committee of the National Assembly on Kashmir & Gilgit- Baltistan here on Wednesday night during a dinner, he hosted in the honor of the members of the committee.
The National Assembly's standing committee on Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan affairs headed by its Chairman Malik Abrar is currently on a three day visit of Azad Kashmir which met different delegations and visited different projects.
Masood Khan told the committee that Azad Kashmir was passing through a serious financial crunch and for most challenge for the government here was to overcome this with the assistance of Federal government.
He said the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was very much keen in the development of Azad Kashmir and he knows the area and the energy projects,undergoing here and was optimistic that the region will made progress during this tenure.
He said being a part of CPEC, the benefits of the development projects executed in Azad Kashmir, will transfer to the every nook and corner of the country like the energy projects. He said AJK government was anxiously pursuing some set goals including betterment of governance in the area but resources were very much needed to achieve this.
The Chairman of the committee Malik Abrar also spoke on the occasion and assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir every support for their cause from the government and people of Pakistan.
