Russia, Angola Sign Agreement in Field of Space Exploration

Russia and Angola following the talks of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Angolan counterpart, Joao Lourenco, signed intergovernmental agreements in the field of exploration and utilization of outer space, as well as fisheries and aquaculture sector

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 04th April, 2019) Russia and Angola following the talks of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Angolan counterpart, Joao Lourenco, signed intergovernmental agreements in the field of exploration and utilization of outer space, as well as fisheries and aquaculture sector.

Putin and Lourenco met earlier in the day in Moscow to discuss bilateral economic and trade ties as well as international issues.

The intergovernmental agreement on space was concluded between Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos and the Angolan Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology, while the agreement on fisheries sector was signed by the Russian fishery agency Rosrybolovstvo and the Ministry of Fishery of Angola.

In addition, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding between the governments of the two countries on cooperation in the production and processing of diamonds.

A protocol on cooperation between the Russian and Angolan ministries of justice was also adopted.

At the same time, Russia and Angola agreed to broaden cooperation in agricultural industry, including to increase the volume of reciprocal deliveries of agricultural products and food, according to a communique adopted following the talks of the countries' leaders.
