World Diabetes Day To Be Marked On Nov 13

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Nov, 2016 ) : The World Diabetes Day (WDD) will be marked in the city on November 13, with theme `Eyes on Diabetes'. The Diabetic Association of Pakistan (DAP) in collaboration with the World health Organization (WHO), Karachi Centre, will organise a day-long moot at a local hotel.

The scientific session in the morning would be meant for doctors and the experts would deliver state of the art lectures on treatment and prevention of diabetes. The afternoon session would be for the people with diabetes and their family members.

A former Speaker of the National Assembly, Illahi Bux Soomro, who is also the patron of DAP, will be the chief guest.

The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) will hold public awareness sessions at its premises here.

An announcement of the SIUT said that there would be free screening for blood glucose testing, blood pressure and weight estimation, nutrition and medical advice. The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) will hold awareness session about healthy eating, diagnosis, treatment and day to day care in diabetes at its auditorium. APP/rak/shb/anm
