Food Committee Imposes 2.6 Mln Fine In October

BAHAWALPUR, Nov 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Nov, 2016 ) : District Food Committee (DFC) Bahawalpur under its ongoing anti adulteration drive had imposed a fine of Rs. 2.6 million upon the violators of government rules in District Bahawalpur during the month of October.
According to official sources, District Food Committee conducted 1,817 raids at various food outlets, sealed 14 food points, lodged 17 FIRs and arrested 14 accused violating government rules during the month of October.
DFC under the supervision of Additional District Collector Bahawalpur Mrs. Nausheen Malik conducted as many as 1,717 raids at various places of the district, sealed 10 food points, lodged 3 FIRs, arrested 12 violators and imposed fine of Rs.
1.36 million. Similarly, during the month of October Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur city, Rao Tasleem Akhter also conducted raids at 100 food outlets, sealed 10 food points, arrested 2 violators and imposed fine to the tune of Rs.
1.3 million. Additional District Collector Mrs. Nausheen Malik has urged upon the members of civil society and consumers to play their constructive role by extending their practical cooperation to protect the rights of consumers by lodging their complaints at free help line "Aawaz-e-Khalq 1718" of District Administration Bahawalpur.
