Following petrol, govt hikes LPG prices

The price of domestic cylinder has increased by Rs47/11.8kg with an increase of Rs3.47/kg.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 1st April, 2019) Following the hike in petrol prices, the government has increased the prices of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) as well.

The price of domestic cylinder has increased by Rs47/11.8kg with an increase of Rs3.47/kg.

According to the notification issued by the government, the new price of 11.8 kg LPG cylinder has been increased to Rs133.

Earlier, the government had increased petrol and High Speed Diesel price by Rs6 per litre.

The prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil were also increased by Rs3 each.

Opposition leaders including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif condemned the Federal government over its decision to increase the prices of all petroleum products by up to 6.45% in the month of April.

In a Twitter post, the former Chief Minister of Punjab said the tsunami of inflation has created difficulties for the people. He further asked why Prime Minister was not afraid while signing the summary.

On the other hand, the hike in the prices of petroleum products has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC) as well.

The plea has declared the increase in the prices as illegal, stating that the matter is already under hearing in the court. The plaintiff further requested the court to issue restraining order on the implementation of new prices.
