Healthcare Facilities At Ayub Medical Institution Improved

PESHAWAR, Nov 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Nov, 2016 ) : Health care facilities are improved with the addition of latest and most modern equipment amounting to Rs.220 mn in Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad including increase of beds in ICU, CCU and in emergency.
This was told by Director Medical ATH Dr. Saleem Afzal while giving details to newsmen here on Wednesday. He told that 100 hundred beds were increased in different sections where in ICU, number of beds are increased to 32 from 16, in cardiology 40 from 20, in ICU 12 from, 6, beds in emergency were increased 3 to 30, in Neurosurgery beds were increased from 24 to 48 and in CCU, number of beds were increased 64 from 30.
Saleem Afzal further told that orders for the additional machinery has been also placed and latest lithotripsy machine with total cost of Rs.60mn has been installed and is fully operative. Two new ventilators have been added in the Nursery and death mortality rate in peads wards has been controlled up to 98 %.
Medical Director informed that new monitoring system has been installed in ICU, CCU. Blood separator machines are also installed in the Lab for the separation of red and white cells which had shown lot of improvement in health care facilities to the poor patients and most of the facilities are being provided freely or on subsidized rates as compare to the market.
Ultra Sound machine has been installed in emergency while CT Scan, MRI are provided freely to the indoor patients and an efficient Nursing Station is established under the supervision of most experienced nursing staff who are taking care of the patients round the clock.
In neuron Surgery unit, ICU facility is also provided while 25 Baby Carts with latest and most sophisticated equipment are arranged to provide the newly born kids and added that death rates has been dropped in peads ward.
Regarding the future up gradation of the hospital, Prof. Dr.Saleem Afzal told that ICU and CCU will be the priority area with the additional tables in Operation Theater and latest machine is purchased in lab where number of tests has been increased to 4/5 per test in few seconds and results are accurate and can be matched with any latest labs of the country.
He added that free test facility is providing to all indoor patients. Dr. Afzal also told that urology department is upgrade with the addition of latest machine and now they can avail the facility of leaser treatment on nominal cost.
Additional posts of senior doctors were created and new appointments were made for the speedy and prompt health care delivery system. Medical director said that this all was happened after the implementation of MTI Act 2015 and board of governor is fully empowered to take decisions for the welfare of the patients and improvement of health care facilities for the patients of Hazara Division and of Northern Areas.
