Government set to increase pol prices from April 1

The prices are being increased on the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 30th March 2019) The government is set to increase the prices of petroleum products from Monday.

The prices, as per the official sources, will be enhanced as per Ogra (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority) suggestions.

The Ogra, according to media reports, had suggested the increase of Rs11.17 per liter in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD), Rs11.91 in petrol, Rs6.65 in kerosene and Rs6.49 in light diesel oil (LDO).

The prices are being raised due in connection with the increase of crude oil prices in the international market.

The Ogra had sent the recommendation for the increase in prices on Friday.

Citizens have expressed concerns over the proposed move, saying if the government was unable to provide any relief to the people, it at least should avoid increasing their sufferings. They said Finance Minister Asad Umar used to criticize the increase in pol prices while sitting at opposition benches. And now when he himself was a minister, he did not feel any embarrassment over his act. They demanded the government avoid the increase in petroleum, electricity and gas prices.
