Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, Nov 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Nov, 2016 ) : Shipping activity remained active at the Port where four ships C.V Maersk Columbus, C.V MSC Silvana and M.V Hoanya Wisdom scheduled to load/offload Containers and Rice were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal, respectively on Tuesday, 8th November-2016.
Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 53% on Tuesday where a total of eight ships namely ships Maersk Columbus, MSC Silvana, Diamond Sea, Hoanya Wisdom, Cretan Wave, White Purl, Black Purl and Al-Salam- II were occupied PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, Rice, Project cargo, Sun Flower seeds, LPG and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 114,708 tonnes, comprising 94,461 tonnes import cargo and 20,247 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,231 Containers TEUs) 2,395 imports TUEs & 836 TUEs exports) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Oil tanker Al-Salam-II and Containers ships, Maersk Columbus sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two LPG carrier White Purl and Black Purl are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Five ships, Maersk Genos, New Naxos, Lime Glaxy, Globe Tanya and Volor carrying Containers, Furnace oil, Chemicals, LPG and Palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO, EVTL, SSGC and LCT respectively on Wednesday, 9th November 2016.
