IHC adjourns Ayyan Ali's case hearing for two-weeks

ISLAMABAD, Nov 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Nov, 2016 ) : Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday adjourned hearing of Ayyan Ali's case against imposition of fine amounting $500,000 by customs collector for two-weeks.

Justice Athar Minallah heard the case of model girl who challenged the decision of custom collector in Currency smuggling case. During the proceeding, the court was informed that the counsel for Ayyan Ali in the case Sardar Lateef Khosa couldn't attend the proceeding due to cases in the Supreme Court.

On this, the court adjourned hearing of the case for two weeks. It may be mentioned here that the petitioner had stated in its plea that the custom's collector had taken decision of imposing fine without giving hearing to the accused.

Collector (adjudication) Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad, Superintendent Investigation and prosecutor Model Custom Collectorate Islamabad, Assistant Collector investigation and Prosecution, appellate tribunal customs sales tax and Federal excise and state as respondents.
