Black Day Observed In Northern Sindh

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th july,2016) : A Black Day was observed on Wednesday through out the northern Sindh to express the solidarity with the Kashmiri people and lodged protest against grave human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. Rallies and seminars were held in Sukkur, Larkana, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Naushahro Feroze, Jaccobabad, Kashmore- Kandhkot, Shahdadkot- Kumber and other districts of Sindh to draw attention of the world community towards the burning issue of Kashmir. All officials of Federal and provincial governments including Reporters and other staff of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) Sukkur and Larkana wearing black arm bands while on duty to express support to Kashmiris. Banners were displayed at conspicuous places inscribed slogans in favour of the Kashmiris freedom struggle. These include `down with Indian occupation', `stop atrocities against Kashmiris', `grant right of self-determination to Kashmiris' and `international community should take notice of human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir'.
While speaking at a solidarity rally in Sukkur, speakers have exhorted world powers to take notice of human rights violations and killings in Kashmir. They lauded the call of Prime Minister of Pakistan to observe the black day on July 20 after tensions in the valley escalated following killing of Burhan Wani, a freedom fighter. They appealed to the world community to take notice of the recent killings in Kashmir and put pressure on India to come to the negotiation table to settle the Kashmir dispute. The rally, which was jointly led by Masood Bandhani and Abdul Mateen Bandhani, was attended by locals and political activists and a large number of human rights and civil society activists. The participants of the rally, who were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans "stop human rights violations in Kashmir", "Burhan Wani is name of an ideology" chanted slogans such as "stop atrocities against Kashmiris".
