Labour Colony Warburton Ready To Be Inaugurated

LAHORE, Nov 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Nov, 2016 ) : The work on Labour Colony Warburton, Nankana Sahib with the total cost of Rs 926.126 million, comprising 208 flats, separate higher schools for both boys and girls, community centre, mosque and other basic amenities has been completed.
This was informed by the newly appointed Secretary Punjab Workers Welfare board (PWWB) Syed Waqar Hussain during his briefing to the Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resource Raja Ashfaq Sarwar in a meeting here on Wednesday.
He informed that DCO Nankana Sahib has been requested to complete the allotment process so as to enable the Board to inaugurate this colony at the earliest. Work on Labor Welfare Complex Multan with the total amount of Rs 3017.847 mln comprising 992 flats and other facilities is underway and 60% work has been completed, he added.
He said that extension work of Workers Welfare Girls High school Dandot with the total cost of Rs. 46.781 million has been completed as five class rooms for 200 students, science laboratories and other facilities are provided there.
The Secretary PWWB told the minister that Workers Welfare Primary School Sher-e-Bangal Labour Colony has been completed and its total cost is Rs 185.
46 mln as 50 class rooms,library, arts and computer room and other facilities have been provided to more than 1500 students here.
Punjab labour minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar stressed upon the need to boost up pace of work at on-going residential and development schemes for labourers and their families with the direction to maintain strict transparency and merit.
He expressed his satisfaction over the pace of work on the development projects and directed the concerned officers to provide drinking water, sewerage, electricity and other facilities in all these schemes at priority basis.
Raja Ashfaq directed the newly appointed Secretary PWWB to streamline the administrative affairs of the Board and ensure redressal of the grievances of labour community by solving the issues of their financial grants.
He further directed the concerned officers to take disciplinary action against those who created unnecessary hurdles in the matters of financial grants of the labour community,adding that no political pressure would be accepted in this regard. APP/nam/swf/anm
