All Provinces Being Given Equal Opportunities Under CPEC

ISLAMABAD, Nov 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Nov, 2016 ) : All the provinces were being given equal opportunities under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and there was no discrimination with small provinces.
Work on mega hydel projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is already underway like US$ 12 billion Dassu dam, US$ 14 billion Diamer-Bhasha Dam and Munda dam, official sources in the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms said here on Wednesday.
Besides Chitral dam, Indus Highway, Lawari Tunnel being completed in the province, 13 projects had been approved by the Higher education Commission (HEC) in KPK. A state of the art research center and FATA university were also being completed in KPK.
Sindh and Balochistan provinces would also take benefit from power projects under the CPEC framework.
Out of total investment volume of US$ 46 billion, US$ 35 billion would be spent on energy projects and from this amount US$ 11 billion projects would be installed in Sindh and US$ nine billion projects in Balochistan.
Moreover, there were mega projects like Gawadar Airport and Seaport, Gawadar expressway and water, roads and railways projects and Balochistan would be the key beneficiary. The Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK leadership had also expressed full confidence on allocation of projects and the pace of implementation.
The sources said, through the CPEC the under-developed and backward areas would get even more benefit from the mega project.
