England 102-3 at lunch in first India Test

RAJKOT, India, Nov 9 (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Nov, 2016 ) - England were 102-3 at lunch on the opening day of the first cricket Test against India in Rajkot on Wednesday. Joe Root was batting on 35 at the break after England won the toss and elected to bat first at the Saurashtra Cricket Association ground.

Nineteen-year-old debutant Haseeb Hameed, who became England's youngest ever opening batsman, made 31 before being bowled lbw by the spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Brief scores: England 102-3 in 32.3 overs (J. Root 35 not out, H. Hameed 31, R. Ashwin 2-35)
