President AJK and Speaker National Assembly discuss matters of mutual interest

Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, has thanked the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Mr Asad Qaiser for the Parliament’s strong and unanimous stand against the recent Indian aggression against Pakistan and Azad Kashmir

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News - 25th March, 2019) Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, has thanked the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Mr Asad Qaiser for the Parliament’s strong and unanimous stand against the recent Indian aggression against Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. He also thanked the Parliament for its strong message underlined through frequent declarations in the recent past that Pakistan would not rest until there is an end to repression in the IOK and the people of Kashmir realize their right to self-determination.

Asad Qaiser, Speaker National Assembly, said that the entire nation stood by the Kashmiris and will continue its struggle for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that parliamentary diplomacy at the international stage offered an effective vehicle for highlighting the plight of the innocent Kashmiris and seeking the support of the international community to give justice to the Kashmiri people and also to help craft a just and durable solution of the Kashmir dispute.

The Speaker also accepted the invitation extended by the President to visit Azad Kashmir. The President highlighted that Azad Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were contiguous regions and therefore said joint efforts should be made towards economic, commercial and cultural collaborations. He said that efforts in this regard should be made towards the early completion of the Mansehra – Muzaffarbad – Mirpur expressway which will help link all of Azad Kashmir to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, throwing up new opportunities for economic development.
