Mumbai (Pakistan Point News / Online - 24th March, 2019) Alia Bhatt had once auditioned for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Black for a child role. Sanjay Leela Bhansali had refused her this role. Alia had taken to twitter, post her announcement of her upcoming film with Salman Khan that was to be directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali."Dream with your eyes wide open they say & I did," tweeted Alia. "Sanjay Sir and Salman Khan are magical together & I can't wait to join them on this beautiful journey called "Inshallah"She also recalled the first time she had walked into Sanjay Leela Bhansali's office to audition.

She, however, did not get the part."I was 9 when I first walked into Sanjay Leela Bhansali's office," tweeted the Gully Boy actress, "all nervous and hoping and praying that I would be in his next film. It's been a long wait."Sanjay Leela Bhansali spoke to Mumbai Mirror and was quoted saying, "Alia is an extremely young actress with a lot of magic. She fits the role beautifully."Speaking about refusing Alia earlier, Bhansali said, "When she was nine, she'd come with her mother (Soni Razdan) to audition for Black.

I saw the sparkle in her eyes. I told Soni I wouldn't audition her for a child's role because I knew she was a Hindi film heroine."Later, however, Bhansali wanted to cast her for another project but that did not materialize either. "Later, I went to Soni and Mahesh (Bhatt)," said the Bajirao Mastani director, "and told them I wanted their girl, but that project didn't happen. Inshallah, this one will be a beautiful journey."
