PARIS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd March, 2019) Some 8,300 people joined Saturday's yellow vest protests across France, local media reported.A total of 3,100 out of 8,300 protesters are taking part in the rally in Paris, the BFMTV broadcaster reported citing the Interior Ministry.
According to earlier reports, 51 participants of the rally in Paris have already been detained while one woman was injured during the rally in Nice.
The wave of the yellow vest rallies started in France in mid-November over planned hikes in fuel taxes. While the French government abandoned its plans to raise fuel taxes and introduced other measures to improve the country's socioeconomic situation, protesters continue to take to the streets across France every weekend for demonstrations to express their discontent with government's policies.
