MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd March, 2019) Gazprom is ready to hold talks on gas supplies to Ukraine and is willing to reduce gas prices for the end consumer in Ukraine under a new contract by as much as 25 percent, company's CEO Alexey Miller said Friday."Gazprom is ready to negotiate a new contract to supply Russian gas directly to the Ukrainian market," Miller said at a meeting of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev with Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk and Ukrainian presidential candidate and leader of the Opposition Platform for Life party Yuriy Boyko.
"Of course, today it is too early to talk about the marginal price for such a contract, but knowing the exorbitant price level ... for end consumers that is in effect on the Ukrainian market today, you can be absolutely sure that under a new contract on direct Russian gas supplies to the Ukrainian market the price for the end consumer in Ukraine will be about a quarter lower than the current price level," Miller stressed.
