The bench headed by Justice Abdul Sami Khan passed the orders while allowing petitions filed by the prosecution department Punjab against dropping Anti-terrorism Act (ATA) sections from the cases and their transfer to ordinary courts.
During the hearing, Additional Prosecutor General Punjab Khurram Khan argued before the bench that the ATC had ordered to transfer the cases to ordinary courts after dropping ATA sections from the cases.
He contended that the accused not only made the video of misdeeds but also threatened to release them on internet in order to extort money.
He contended that these affairs were no longer between two parties as it involve society and others.
He pleaded the court to set aside the orders for transfer of the cases to ordinary courts as all cases attract sections of the ATA. However, the accused's counsel opposed the request and pleaded the court to dismiss the petitions as the ATC had passed orders on merit.
The bench after hearing all arguments ordered to return all ten cases to the ATC for trial while allowing petitions. It is pertinent to mention here that the ATC, Lahore had transferred ten cases registered in connection with Kasur Scam to ordinary courts after dropping ATA sections while allowing applications of the accused.
