Walk Held To Create Awareness About Smog

MUZAFFARGARH, Nov 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Nov, 2016 ) : District Coordination Officer Shoukat Ali led a walk from DHO office to Yadgaar Chowk and distributed pamphlets and masks among the people for safety against smog here on Tuesday.
A seminar was also organised with MPA Khan Muhammad Jatoi in the chair. The MPA said that all-out efforts were being made from advocacy to practical measures to keep people safe from smog.
Speaking on the occasion, DCO said that smog impact was somewhat lower in southern part of Punjab and hoped that it would disappear soon.
EDO Health Dr. Shahid Hussain Magsi said that smog was a mixture of smoke, fog which affect the lungs directly besides causing itching, pneumonia and cancer. He advised the people to use goggles and mask to cover their eyes, nose and mouth when they move outside their homes. People should go outside their homes only when direly needed and increase water consumption, the DHO said.
