WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st March, 2019) Nearly 350 US paratroopers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade are slated to launch Exercise Eagle Sokul beginning on Friday, the Department of Defense announced in a press release on Thursday.

"The airborne operation will initiate a two week training exercise for the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (Airborne), using the training areas in Cerklje and Pocek, Slovenia, to build combat readiness at the squad and platoon level," the release stated.

Eagle Sokul provides an opportunity for US soldiers to work alongside the Slovenian Army to boost allied lethality and interoperability, the release said. The exercise will run from March 22 through April 02, and will test Air Assault, Airborne and small arms live fire skills.
