Special LDA Squad Set Up To Demolish Illegal Construction

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Nov, 2016 ) : Lahore Development Authority has set up a dedicated demolition squad for restraining construction of illegal buildings by taking action against them.
The squad will carry out its operations under the supervision of Chief Town Planner, LDA, from Thursday, the 10th of November and undertake vigilance field visits for identifying buildings involved in violations of building regulations.
Besides relevant officers of the Town Planning Wing and officials of police force, the squad will comprise of demolitions inspectors, encroachment staff, and other staff and will have all necessary machinery and equipment at its disposal for curbing illegal construction.
Meanwhile, during its operation against illegal construction on Tuesday, the LDA staff demolished as many as nine buildings at different locations in the city that were being constructed in contravention of building bye-laws besides sealing another one.
The LDA staff partially demolished two building on plot No 34 Tipu block, New Garden Town and plot No 8 block A New Muslim Town, removed and sealed internal wall of structure on plot No 122 Abu Bakar block New Garden Town and sealed building on plot No 31 Shadman.
During its operations on Defence Road area, the LDA staff demolished newly constructed shops in Muhafiz Town, Phase-2 and demolished roof slab, boundary wall and partition walls of this structure.
The staff also razed under construction foundations along with frame structures and newly constructed shops with recently installed shutter gates opposite to DHA Rahbar. Shuttering for construction of ground floor roof slab of a commercial hall was demolished near Kahna Flyover.
Construction without approval of house at Theh-Punjju village, Defence Road was stopped by removing shuttering manually using gang-men. Illegal subdivision of residential plot no. 240-A in Venus Housing scheme was also completely demolished.
