PM takes notice of urban smog

ISLAMABAD, Nov 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Nov, 2016 ) : Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday taking notice of prevailing smog in urban areas of the country directed the concerned departments to take long-term steps to control the environmental hazard.

The Prime Minister directed the Transport Departments to ensure reduction of vehicular emissions through strict inspection. He asked the provincial forestry departments to fast-track plantation in urban areas under Green Pakistan Programme for carbon reduction. The Prime Minister's focal person will liaison with the concerned departments for compliance.
