Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 19th March, 2019) Federal Ombudsperson for harassment Kashmala Tariq has warned men not to send good morning messages to women.

Terming such messages as harassment, Kashmala Tariq said that harassment is not only sexual, it can take any form.

Speaking at Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kashmala Tariq said that good morning messages to women also pertain to harassment.

Similarly, asking women out for tea or coffee is also harassment, she said.

She said that she receives complaints where even Naib Qasids harass women. Kashmala said that women can register their complaints online as well, adding that the complaints are resolved within two months.

She said that men should give us enough space that such issues can be resolved.

Kashmala further said that women are showing extraordinary performance in all fields of life.

In recent years, she said, around 40 per cent CSPs are women.

The ombudsperson said that it is imperative to empower women economically to prevent them from mental and physical abuse.
