PNCA, ohters finalises programmes on Iqbal Day

ISLAMABAD, Nov 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Nov, 2016 ) : Allama Muhammad Iqbal Day would be marked in Federal capital as elsewhere in the country in a befitting manner on Wednesday. A number of social, cultural and educational organizations have chalked out various programmes for the day.

A colourful cultural show would be held at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) on Wednesday to mark the birth anniversary of National poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. To mark birth anniversary, a Puppet show, speeches, national songs and Tableau will be presented by children of various educational institutions.

Nazria Pakistan Council Islamabad would organize event "Taqrebat-e-Iqbal" at Aewan-e-Quaid on Wednesday. Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui likely to be the chief guest on the occasion.

Speakers including Senator Dr. S.M Zaffar, Chairman Nazria Pakistan Council Dr. Naeem Ghani, Dr. Muhammad Ayub will present their papers on the topic 'Iqbal aur Fikar-e-Islami'. Pakistan academy of Letters will also organize a programme in connection with Iqbal Day.

Allama Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877 in Sialkot, was a great leader of Muslims of the Sub-Continent and an important personality for the Pakistan Movement. Iqbal was a Sufi poet for the modern age, who infused a revolutionary spirit in the nation through his poetry. His poetry has been translated in various languages including Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, English and others.
