Chinese Delegation Visits PARC For Collaboration In Tea Research,

ISLAMABAD, Nov 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Nov, 2016 ) : A three-member Chinese delegation led by Yang Yajun, Director, Tea Research Institute Hangzhou Chinese academy of Agricultural Sciences (TRI-CAAS) China is visiting Pakistan for collaboration in tea research and development.
During their visit to Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) Headquarters here, they held meeting with PARC senior scientists of Crop Sciences Division to discuss the joint collaborative programme, said a statement issued here on Tuesday.
Dr. Muhammad Amjad, National Coordinator (Oilseeds) presided over a meeting with Chinese delegation on behalf of Member Plant Sciences of PARC Dr. Ahmad Bukhsh Mahar. The other scientists of PARC include Sartaj Khan, National Coordinator (Sugarcane and food Legumes), Dr.
Muhammad Asim, Principal Scientific Officer and TSO to Member (PSD) and Dr. F. S. Hamid, Director of National Tea and High Value Crops Research Institute (NTHRI) of PARC located in Shinkiari Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) were also present in the meeting.
This visit of Chinese delegation is a follow-up of a MoU signed between NTHRI of PARC and TRI-CAAS China on November 12, 2014. During this visit the Chinese experts would visit NTHRI Shinkiari tea fields and discuss or finalize the concept of joint project, fields of collaboration and work plan regarding tea research and development in Pakistan.
