UNITED NATIONS,(APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -7th nov,2016) : UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has expressed concern over continuing clashes between Indian and Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed Kashmir region, and urged New Delhi and Islamabad to resolve their issues through talks.
Responding to a question at the regular noon briefing, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said the UN chief has all along called on India and Pakistan to resolve their difference "peacefully through dialogue." Meanwhile, he said the United Nations continues to watch "this situation of concern".
Tension over the Himalayan region has run high since a September raid on Uri army base killed 19 Indian soldiers. Since then, Indian troops in occupied Kashmir have been regularly firing across the LoC causing civilian and military casualties.
