Using freedom of speech with integration reflection of civilised society: Marriyum Aurangzeb ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News -7th nov,2016) : Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb Monday said difference of opinion was beauty of democracy but it should not go beyond limit.
She expressed the hope that the political forces would show maturity and not take their differences too far. She said this she during her visit to various news channels and media houses here. Marriyum Auranzeb said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif believed in reconciliation and had always kept doors open for dialogue.
She said freedom of speech was reflection of an elevated society but using it with integrity reflected a civilised society. She said security and safety of the media houses was top priority of the government and all possible steps were being taken in that regard.
The minister said there was no threat to the present government as it drew its strength from the people of Pakistan who had voted it to power and with the grace of Allah Almighty it would complete its term.
To a question, she said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had reposed confidence in her and she would do her best to come up to his expectations. Marriyum Aurangzeb said she would work to facilitate the media houses and steps would be taken for capacity building of media professionals.
The government would further strengthen its relations with media, she added. She asked the media to follow self-accountability mechanism as their regulations through the laws was not government's priority.
The minister visited various sections of the television news channels and media houses and had informal chat with the media professionals. Replying to a question, she said women just like men could excel in all fields.
