Two Terrorists Involved In Murder Of Amjad Sabri, Other High-profile

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : A team of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh Police in a raid on Monday in Liaquatabad area of the metropolis, arrested two suspected terrorists of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (Attaur Rehman alias Naeem Bukhari group).
The suspects are involved in the assassination of renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri and a number of other high-profile target killings, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah while addressing a press conference at Central Police Office here Monday.
The suspects Ishaq alias Bobi and Asim alias Capri were arrested after an encounter from a flat in Street No. 4 of Liaquatabad No. 2 near Nayab Masjid by a special team led by CTD officer Raja Umar Khitab.
It said that a huge cache of arms and ammunition, explosive devices, as well as the weapons snatched from policemen and motorcycles were recovered from the possession of the suspects.
The weapons recovered included 03 kilashnikovs, 17 9mm-pistol, 10 30-bore pistol, 02 MP-5 (snatched in Bangoria town and Aysha Manzil incidents), 03 revolvers, 07 hand grenades, 09 silencers of kilashnikovs and pistols, 06 remote controls used in blasts, 07 SMG magazine, 02 pipe bomb, 02 motorcycles (used in terrorist activities), and 20 kg nuts and bolts.
It said that the arrested terrorists have confessed their involvement in several high-profile murder cases, including the assassination of renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri, two security forces personnel near Parking Plaza in Saddar, and attack at a security forces' vehicle near Tibet Centre in Saddar, killing of five people in firing at a Majlis in Nazimabad and murder of two traffic police officials in Ayesha Manzil.
It said that the arrested terrorists had been carrying out target killings for Lashkar-e-Jhangi since 2012.
