Rs 198 Mln Approved For Completion Of Sector D-12 Development Work

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Sheikh Anser Aziz on Monday approved Rs 198.00 million for immediate completion of residual development work of Sector D-12.
These funds were approved during a meeting held at CDA Headquarters to review the progress of development activities being carried out in Sector D-12. The meeting presided over by the Mayor was attended by senior officers of relevant formations of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and CDA.
The meeting approved funds amounting to Rs 192.00 million for development of Markaz D-12, while Rs 5.2 million were allocated for installation of street lights in sector D-12. Sheikh Anser Aziz was briefed that street lights on all major roads of Sector D-12 have been made functional, while soon after completion of drainage and sewerage system, street lights in the remaining areas would be installed.
He was apprised that in order to cater daily needs of residents of the sector and carry on ongoing development activities a comprehensive strategy has been evolved to fully develop the Markaz D-12.
Tenders in this regard would be issued in next few days. He was apprised that residual development work in the sector is being completed at fast pace.
Sheikh Anser said that completion of development work in sector D-12 was among his top priorities.
He said that in order to cater the needs of residents of sector D-12, commercial plots of Markaz D-12 had been auctioned adding that more plots would also be presented for auction soon. He said that funds amounting to Rs 193.00 million had been allocated for the development of Markaz D-12 which included construction of footpaths, establishment of drainage and sewerage system, development of car parking area and to carry out landscaping and beautification of Markaz D-12.
Sheikh Anser directed the Environment Wing to carry out landscaping at median strips and plant shady trees along all major and small roads of the sector. He further directed the concerned formations to ensure provision of electricity, gas and water supply in all the areas of the sector.
He said that Machinery Pool Organization (MPO) Directorate had started carpeting of major roads of the sector. He said carpeting of the Constitution Avenue had been carried out by MPO Directorate, which helped save millions of rupees in the project. Carpeting in other areas of the city would be also be completed by MPO Directorate, he said.
