SHARJAH, (Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2019) The Sharjah Government Media Bureau's popular portal, Sharjah Events, is all set to launch a futuristic interactive map named, "Tomorrow’s Sharjah how do you see it?" at the International Government Communication Forum, IGCF, taking place on 20th and 21st March, 2019, at the Expo Centre Sharjah.

The interactive platform is designed to act as a bridge between residents and government institutions and organisations in Sharjah in an effort to elicit the public feedback and proposals in order to enhance public services and develop the places and sites that appear on the map.

"The initiative is part of Sharjah's vision to build a better tomorrow for our future generations and to foster a culture of innovation by making the public part of the decision-making process in developing the emirate and its various projects and initiatives," emphasised Hessa Al Hammadi, Manager of Government Communication Department at the Sharjah Government Media Bureau.

The interactive map, to be displayed on a large electronic screen at the IGCF venue at Expo Centre Sharjah, features various cultural, artistic and tourist attractions of the emirate, from the Central region of Sharjah to its stunning East Coast, boasting a diverse landscape of desert dunes, sunny beaches, rocky mountains, beautiful mosques, souks and cultural centres.

Al Hammadi asserted that the initiative is part of the SGMB’s efforts to enhance communication between various stakeholders in the emirate and channel suggestions and proposals put forth by members of the public to the decision makers for the overall development of the Emirate.

The interactive map employs the latest digital technology to serve the emirate's thrust for technological empowerment and the use of Artificial Intelligence techniques to support the culture of innovation in all areas and across all projects. The initiative stems from the emirate’s keenness to improve the quality of life and services through innovative solutions that ensure sustainable development and progress of all.

Meanwhile, the Sharjah sports City, in collaboration with the Sharjah Youth Centre, is hosting the "Tomorrow’s Sharjah how do you see?" contest, which will allow the contestants to design an electronic game that bears the Emirate's identity and future vision from the perspective of young people in the UAE.

The competition encourages participants to create video games and electronic tools that can serve in the fields of education, human development and empowerment, creating an atmosphere of positive competition among participants.

The jury will select the top three games in accordance with the criteria prescribed by the IGCF’s Innovation platform. The public will also be part of the judging process and can help select the top three winning games through a direct vote.

The Sharjah Events is the go-to guide and official Calendar of all public events, activities and developments in the Emirate covering all spheres of life in Sharjah.
