Karachi Circular Railway Project Not Abandoned: Ebad

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : The Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project has not been abandoned. This was stated by the Governor Sindh, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, here on Monday.
During a visit to the development projects in the metropolis, he said that there was no truth that the KCR has been abandoned, says a statement issued by the Governor House here. The Governor pointed out that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has prepared a feasibility regarding the KCR project.
He was of the view that positive headway is expected soon in this regard. During the visit, the Governor was also briefed about the Green and the Orange Line projects.
He was informed that the board Office, KDA Chowrangi, Five Star and Sakhi Hassan intersection construction would be completed by March next year.
The work on the Orange Line would also be completed by February next year. The Governor directed the Deputy Mayor of Karachi, Arshad Vohra, who was also present on the occasion, to monitor the development projects in the metropolis.
He was of the view that the development projects of Federal and provincial governments as well as of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) pertain to the metropolis and would ultimately be run by the elected representatives.
