Children Week To Begin From Nov 14

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : Sindh Minister for Social Welfare Shamim Mumtaz has said that half of children population was out of school in the country and society would be sensitized on child issues so as to ensure protection of child rights enshrined in UN charter.
The Provincial Minister said this while presiding over a meeting to review arrangements for celebrating children week on the occasion of Universal Children Day falling on November 20, said a statement here on Monday.
Secretary Social Welfare Dr. Shireen Mustafa, Deputy Director Social Welfare Muhammad Raheem Lakho, Deputy Director Child Welfare Fozia Masoom and others attended the meeting.
Ms Shamim Mumtaz said children were our future and called upon civil society and parents in particular to play their role in protecting children rights and imparting best possible education and training to children to enable them to face the challenges of modern era.
She called for holding seminars, walks, workshops, sports and speech competition should be organized to create awareness on child protection issues at district level throughout province.
