ISLAMABAD, Nov 7 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders has said that mounting political tension on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project was against the national interest.
In a statement issued here, Patron Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders Shahid Rasheed Butt said, authorities should not allow anyone to disrupt the project which was set to change the destiny of Pakistan.
He said, those who were raising objections on different facets of CPEC should be taken into confidence so that the fate changing project can be completed well in time. Shahid Rasheed Butt said, the reservations of politicians of province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan should be tackled properly.
Despite global recession and slowdown in major economics, the CPEC will create seven hundred thousand jobs while it will add two to 2.5 percent to the national GDP, he added. This project is equal to seventeen percent of our GDP which will result in rapid growth but it requires solidarity and satisfaction of Chinese government as well as local and international investors, he observed.
The veteran business leader said, "Our politicians should know that there is a limit to the patience of China therefore we must shun differences." therefore all those elements opposing the project will benefit the enemies of the corridor.
