Freedom movement not meant for economic gains

ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : The joint resistance leadership has said that the struggle for freedom is not meant for any economic gains or packages but for the determination of future of millions of people living in Jammu and Kashmir.

This was said in a statement issued after a meeting between Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik at Hyderpora in Srinagar, KMS reported.

The leadership said that so-called rulers were pushing Kashmiri youth to the wall by continuously ignoring their demand for freedom. They unanimously rejected the statement of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that development was the corner stone of the Kashmir solution.

The resistance leadership said that revolutionary movements were hard to die by the deceitful promises of monetary benefits. The leaders said that present uprising representing the aspirations of common people had unnerved the henchmen and they had let loose all the tools in their armory to crush it in a ruthless manner.

The illegally detained APHC General Secretary, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, in a statement urged India to accept ground realities over Jammu and Kashmir and resolve the long-pending dispute in its historical perspective through holding plebiscite in the territory.

Indian forces continued to impose restrictions to prevent marches towards respective schools by schoolchildren along with parents, elders of society and representatives of masajid and resistance committees including youth volunteers.

The school Safety Day programme was announced by the joint resistance leadership as part of weekly protest Calendar. The move was also aimed at thwarting the ongoing targeting of schools by Indian agencies in the territory.

Indian troops and police personnel raided the house of APHC leader and Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Yasmeen Raja in Pampore. They ransacked house goods and violently harassed the family of the woman leader.

Meanwhile, Indian forces in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred a Kashmiri youth identified as Saddam Mir during a siege and search operation in Shopian district, today. The forces' personnel cordoned off the Wangam village and started operation in the area.

The killing led to forceful anti-India protests in the area. The body of a teenage boy, Pervez Cheechi, was recovered from Sumbal power canal in Gund area of Kangan in Ganderbal district. The boy went missing two days ago.
