Court Grants Physical Remand To PWD's Officer In Corruption Case

ISLAMABAD, Nov 7 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : A lower court of Islamabad Monday granted a four-day physical remand of PWD's Executive Engineer Faiz Ahmed Faiz to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in corruption case.
The accused was produced in the court of Civil Judge Rasool Bakhsh Mirjat by the FIA. During the proceeding, FIA officials informed the court that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had paid more than 15.7 million rupees to install a lift in its office.
A local company had installed a low quality lift with amount of only 3.6 million rupees and remaining funds were allegedly embezzled. The FIA said that PEPRA rules were also not applied in this subject.
It further informed the court that the accused had revealed the involvement of other people in the scam and requested the court to grant physical remand for further investigation. After hearing the arguments, the court granted four-days physical remand of the accused to FIA.
