OIC To Hold Workshop To Draft Comprehensive Media Strategy

JEDDAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is holding, at its headquarters in Jeddah, a three-day workshop to draft a comprehensive OIC media strategy, with the participation of representatives of the OIC member states and the OIC institutions in addition to officials from different departments of the General Secretariat.

It is expected that the participants in the workshop which will start on Tuesday would present their media programs and projects up to 2025, following the OIC-2025 Program of Action which states that the print, broadcast, and social media are the most useful tool and source for the dissemination of information and shaping of public opinion.

The OIC-2025 Program of Action calls for investment in the development of information infrastructure in all countries, and revitalization of the OIC media institutions to promote solidarity and unity and enhance joint Islamic action in all fields.
