Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, Nov 7 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : Two ships C.V New Ark and M.V Pala Bora carrying containers and project cargo were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Sunday.

Berth occupancy was observed at the port at forty seven percent on Sunday where a total of seven ships namely ships C.V New Ark, M.V Zi Jing Song, M.V Pala Bora, M.V Cretan Wave, M.T Al-Kharsaan, M.T Black Pearl-11 and M.T Maersk Mediteranean were occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers, project cargo sun flower seeds, LNG, LPG and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 88,334 tonnes, comprising 80,526 tonnes import cargo and 7,828 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,002 containers TEUs) 593 imports TUEs & 412 TUEs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Two ships, oil tanker Maersk Mediteranean and general cargo carrier Pala Boara sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship another ships M.T Al-Kharasaan is expected to sail on same day afternoon.

A total of seven ships C.V MSC Meava, C.V Chariston, C.V Najran, M.V Diamond Sea, M.V BBC Vermount, M.T White Purl and M.T Al-Salam-II scheduled to load/offload containers, cement, project cargo, LPG and diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-1, MW-2, EVTL and FOTCO respectively on Monday, while another container vessel Silvana is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
