13,000 Cops On Duty, Roads Sealed For Karachi�s First PSL Seasonal Match

KARACHI (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 09th March, 2019) Karachi is gearing up for its first PSL 4 match of the year at the National Stadium.Over 13,000 policemen are on duty for the security of the match and the subsequent seven matches that will be held in the port city. The Rangers are handling security within the National Stadium.�There are 7,720 policemen who have been assigned duty in the east zone and 2,260 others will be on guard in the south zone,� Sindh IG Kaleem Imam had said during a February 27 meeting on PSL security.

�The Special Security Unit�s 565 personnel and 1,780 traffic policemen will perform their duties as well.�There are also 788 personnel of the Special Branch who will be deployed for security of the matches, he said, adding that a total of 13,112 officers and jawans have been assigned duties for the security of PSL matches. A traffic plan has also been issued for the matches.If you're coming from New Karachi, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Liaquatabad or Orangi you will go from NIPA and Liaquatabad Number 10 to Hassan Square and then to the Hakeem Said Ground to park your cars and motorcycles.

A shuttle will take you from there and drop you off near the Expo Centre.If you're coming from Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal or Malir you'll take Drigh Road to Rashid Minhas Road to the Gharib Nawaz Football Ground near Dalmia Road where you�ll park and a shuttle will take you to the stadium.If you're coming from Defence, Clifton or Korangi, you'll take Sharae Faisal to Sharae Quaideen to Allahwala Chowrangi to PP Chowrangi to University Road to Hassan Square to the Itwaar Bazaar ground where you can park and a shuttle will take you to the stadium.

Some roads will be closed during the matches. Traffic outside the stadium will be closed for all traffic except for VIP movement, such as the teams, soon. The gates were supposed to open at 2pm but haven't been opened yet.The bridge and road from Hassan Square to the National Stadium will be closed for traffic. Sharae Faisal to Sharae Salman (Karsaz Road) will also be closed as well as the bridge leading from there to the National Stadium.The Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators will take the field on March 10. Lahore will face the Multan Sultans on March 11. The Karachi Kings will also take the field on March 11 to face Peshawar Zalmi.The eliminators will be held on March 13, 14 and 15 and the final of the PSL 4 will be held on March 17. NNI
