Not Given A Proper Chance To Show My Ability: Junaid Khan

ISLAMABAD, Nov 7 (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : Pacer Junaid Khan believes he has not been given a proper chance to show his ability as a bowler after his injury. Junaid was once regarded as one of Pakistan's most talented fast-bowlers, twenty-six-year-old Junaid Khan featured regularly in the national squad until June 2015.
Since then Junaid has faced an uphill struggle to re-establish himself in the national team due largely to injuries. Junaid spoke about his disappointment at not being selected for the Pakistan team despite being injury-free and fully fit and expressed his hope of making another comeback to the national team despite not being offered a central contract by the Pakistan Cricket board (PCB).
He said before his injury problems, his bowling and performances were outstanding considering that he had played most of my international cricket on Asian wickets. "As a pace bowler to play most of your international cricket on Asian wickets is a tough task and challenge," Pakpassion.net quoted him as saying.
"After I came back from injury I don't believe that I have been given a proper chance to show my ability as a bowler.
When you come back from injury it takes time for you to regain your rhythm especially when you are a pace bowler.
I don't think I got the time and chances that I needed post-injury," he said. Speaking about dropped from the recently announced PCB list of players with central contracts, Junaid said he do not know the reason for that.
"Some players haven't played for Pakistan for a long time and have still been included in the central contracts list. I have been playing for Pakistan and Pakistan A yet I was still dropped," he questioned? He said the central contract issue is irrelevant and that will not deter me from my ambition of making a comeback for Pakistan.
"My philosophy is that just because I don't have a central contract that doesn't mean that I won't be picked. If they want to give me a central contract that's fine, if not, then that's fine. My sole aim is to get back on track with my bowling and earn an international recall," he said.
