Academy To Be Established To Promote Social Sciences

ISLAMABAD, Nov 7 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : The present government has made a plan to establish academy of Social Sciences to promote social sciences in the country. The focus from science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects has now been shifted to science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics subjects.

According to official sources in the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, the education of the arts subjects along with science education would help students promote their creative abilities and capabilities.

The modern world has re-aligned its educational structure and brought in dynamism in knowledge and introduced multi-disciplinary subjects and Pakistan needs to keep pace with the modern world in this regard.

It said, Pakistan would send 10,000 scholars to the United States under the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor in next ten years.

The US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor will become a knowledge game changer like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project which is an economic game changer.

The government would formulate Pakistan's education system as one of the best systems in Asia, in next ten years to ensure quality education in the country. The curriculum must be re-designed to incorporate inter-disciplinary approach, the sources added.

With the establishment of university in all the districts, the students living in the under-developed areas would have an opportunity to get higher education. Since 2013, allocation of funds to Higher Education Commission (HEC) has increased more than 100 percent.
