Tokyo stocks close up on FBI Clinton announcement

TOKYO, Nov 7, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) - Tokyo stocks rose Monday on news that market-favourite Hillary Clinton would not face criminal charges over her use of a private email server, easing worries over her US presidential bid.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 1.61 percent, or 271.85 points, to finish at 17,177.21 while the broader Topix index was up 1.17 percent, or 15.76 points, at 1,362.80.
